joins New Horizons after 17 years as Equestrian Director / PATH Therapeutic Riding Instructor at Paul Newman's Hole In The Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, Conn., a camp for youngsters with cancer and other serious illnesses.
She earned her national certification as a PATH Advanced Instructor at High Hopes therapeutic riding center in Old Lyme, Conn. Her specialty is working with youngsters 8 to 15 years old with cognitive or physical disabilities.
began riding at a young age, and competed on the 4-H and Open horse show circuits as a junior rider. In the fifty-odd years since, she has worked in many capacities in the equine industry: stable manager, trainer, instructor, equine veterinary technician, racehorse exercise rider, as well as being active in many organizations promoting the equine industry. Her involvement with special needs riders began in 1996, and became a commitment to bring the healing power of horses to as many individuals as possible.
